Therapist Respiratory Therapist

Job Summary:

Perform comprehensive respiratory care procedures in the Cardiopulmonary department, including adult ventilator management, critical care assessment, and diagnostic testing. Provide specialized therapies with a focus on patient safety and clinical accuracy.

Responsibilities:

• Execute and evaluate bedside pulmonary function tests, spirometry, and arterial blood gases.
• Perform EKGs, Holter monitoring, and stress testing, ensuring accurate data collection.
• Administer critical care ventilation and assess therapy goals based on patient needs.
• Conduct clinical assessments through inspection, palpation, percussion, auscultation, and patient interviews.
• Supervise and support Certified Therapists during shifts in the absence of department leadership.
• Maintain detailed documentation within the Cerner EMR system and adhere to facility dress code.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current Michigan Registered Respiratory Therapist license in good standing.
• Possess active RRT certification through the NBRC.
• Bring at least 5 years of current respiratory therapy experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency in EKG, stress testing, Holter monitoring, and EEGs.
• Be able to cross-train in cardiopulmonary diagnostic areas.
• Own reliable transportation for commute purposes.
