Respiratory Therapist

Perform all aspects of respiratory care clinically and diagnostically that the Cardiopulmonary department provides, such as adult ventilator care and critical care assessment, EKGs, general floor therapy, working with Neopuff support of newborns, arterial blood gas access, Pulmonary Function Testing, stress testing and holter monitoring/scanning.

Requested time off during the course of this assignment MUST be noted and verified  REQUESTS AFTER UPLOAD/DURING INTERVIEW WILL NOT BE APPROVED!! NO MORE THAN 5 DAYS OF RTO WILL BE ACCEPTED (less is better).

Essential Functions:

• Consistently uses an outward mindset and puts forth exemplary effort in accomplishing his/her goals and objectives in a manner that helps others to achieve their goals and objectives.
• Assumes responsibility for first-line supervision of Certified Therapists in director's absence.
• Performs and evaluates bedside spirometry, and pulmonary function tests.
• Performs arterial blood gas puncture.
• Performs EKGs and holter scanning.
• Performs and evaluates EKG stress testing, if trained.
• Performs critical care ventilation and assessment.
• Determines appropriateness of prescribed therapy and goals for identified pathophysiological state.
• Conducts prescribed therapeutic procedures.
• Collects and evaluates additional pertinent clinical information by inspection, palpation, percussion, auscultation, and patient interview.

Experience:

5 years current RRT [required]

• Ability to cross train in the Cardio side of department ie: EKG, Stress tests, Holter Monitors, Event Monitors and EEGs
• Cerner experience [strongly preferred]
• Traveler must have their own vehicle for this assignment
• Perm address must be included in profile
• Any/All RTO must be included in profile. ALL SCHEDULING REQUESTS MUST BE MADE AT THE TIME OF SUBMISSION. Facility will NOT approve scheduling requests at/after time of offer/ase obtain this information prior to submittal. Requests after offer may lead to rescinded offer

• Active American Heart Association BLS - [REQUIRED] [DOCUMENT]
• Active American Heart Association ACLS Certification - [REQUIRED] [DOCUMENT]
