Labor And Delivery Nurse
Provide specialized nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients in a Birth Center setting. Utilize critical thinking and clinical expertise to ensure patient safety, comfort, and positive outcomes during labor, delivery, and recovery.
Responsibilities:
- Assess fetal and maternal status continuously to identify any complications or deviations from normal progress.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for laboring patients.
- Supervise and direct nursing staff, including CNAs, LPNs, and technicians, to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Document patient conditions, responses to treatment, and progress accurately and promptly in the EMR system.
- Assist with labor and delivery procedures, including newborn resuscitation, and provide postpartum care for mothers and babies.
- Maintain up-to-date certifications and comply with hospital policies and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Possess a current MI RN license and American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Demonstrate at least 2 years of recent experience in a Birth Center or labor and delivery unit.
- Have experience with laboring patients, delivery, and postpartum care, including newborn care.
- Prior travel experience preferred; must have own vehicle and current skills checklist pertinent to specialty.
- Be willing to obtain NRP certification if not already active.
- Submit current Supervisory Reference Forms completed within the last two years.
