Maintenance Technician
This position is responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on a wide variety of facility systems and equipment. Maintenance Technicians are expected to troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues, complete scheduled preventive maintenance, respond to service requests, and support continuous facility operations in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong mechanical aptitude, experience in industrial or commercial facilities maintenance, and a commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on facility equipment and building systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment, pumps, motors, conveyors, fans, gearboxes, doors, plumbing fixtures, compressed air equipment, and general facility assets.
- Perform basic electrical troubleshooting, including replacing switches, receptacles, lighting components, relays, contractors, and other low-voltage devices (within qualification level).
- Assist with HVAC maintenance, equipment inspections, and system repairs.
- Respond to corrective maintenance work orders and equipment breakdowns.
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks in accordance with established schedules and manufacturer recommendations.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, drawings, and work instructions.
- Document all maintenance activities accurately within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
- Support equipment installations, facility modifications, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with HVAC, Electrical, Controls, and Operations personnel to ensure reliable facility performance.
- Follow all OSHA, NFPA, lockout/tagout, confined space, and facility safety requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of industrial, manufacturing, commercial facilities, or mechanical maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience using common maintenance hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals.
- Basic computer skills and ability to utilize CMMS software.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely perform physical maintenance work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing or industrial facilities maintenance experience.
- Technical school, trade school, or military maintenance training.
- Experience with:
- HVAC systems
- Plumbing systems
- Pneumatic equipment
- Pumps and motors
- Belt drives and bearings
- Compressed air systems
- Forklift, aerial lift, or scissor lift certification.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Basic welding or fabrication experience.
