POSITION SUMMARY
A Relief Driver- CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck, providing prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services for customers. The Relief Driver ensures the vehicle complies with the Company’s safety standards, adheres to all state, federal, and company regulations, and completes vehicle condition reports ("VCRs") daily to address any vehicle defects in a timely manner.
Principal Responsibilities- Perform pre‑ and post‑operation inspections to verify tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls.
- Operate the truck safely along the designated route, reading the route sheet and servicing each customer per the dispatcher’s assignment.
- Operate manual or automatic controls to lift and load refuse, use the compactor, and dispose of collected material at the designated facility.
- Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and others to ensure all routes are serviced professionally and on time.
- Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag them per departmental procedures.
- Continuously monitor waste for unacceptable material.
- Clean spills, maintaining all safety standards and policies.
- Monitor vehicle condition to ensure operational readiness, cleaning waste from the packer blade and truck body as needed.
- Complete required route/productivity sheets, VCRs, and other reports.
- Maintain adherence to productivity standards for efficient customer service.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Participate actively in the Company’s ReSOP program.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

- Effective time management to complete responsibilities efficiently and safely.
- Follow‐through ability, adhering to schedules and resolving challenges.
- Adherence to company policies, promotion of safety standards, and avoidance of inappropriate risks.
- Prides in work and strives to meet all goals.
- Preferred:
Two years of prior commercial truck driving experience.
- Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s license with air brakes endorsement.
