POSITION AVAILABLE:
Special Education Teacher Long Term Substitute
POSITION LOCATION:
Southwest West Central Service Cooperative (SWWC), with placement at the ELC New London located in New London, MN.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Special Education Teacher identifies, designs, evaluates and provides individual educational instruction and programming for a small caseload of special education students with Paraprofessional support in the classroom.
MAJOR
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Designs and implements appropriate educational and/or behavioral programs for students to meet specific needs and goals of the students; participates and conducts portions of the evaluations and observations to determine special education eligibility of students placed in the program and conducts periodic assessments to determine educational progress of the students; conducts and/or participates in IEP Meetings for students in the program;
performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree required. Emotional/Behavior Disorder (E/BD) Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) licensure from MDE is preferred, but not necessary if willing or in the process of getting licensure. Teacher will provide services to students in a self-contained, all day setting, collaborating with paraprofessionals and other member school district staff. Must have good organizational and communication skills.
CONTRACT/SALARY:
This long-term substitute (185-day) position begins on or around August 3, 2026, for the school year. Bachelor's degree salary range of $54,477to $74,870. Master's salary range of $64,965 to $96,796. PhD salary range of $74,515 to $98,387. Salary depending on education, qualifications, abilities, and experience.
