Working Title
Assistant Professor of Accounting - Faculty
Position OverviewThis on‑campus faculty position requires teaching undergraduate and graduate accounting courses, advising students, and engaging in scholarly and community service activities. Teaching methods include classroom instruction and online/hybrid delivery.
Responsibilities- Teach accounting courses such as Principles of Accounting I & II, Intermediate Accounting I & II, Cost Accounting I & II, Federal Tax I & II, Accounting Information Systems, Advanced Accounting, Auditing, Forensic Accounting, Sustainability Accounting, and additional courses as needed.
- Provide academic advising and student club advising.
- Contribute to departmental projects, assessment data collection, and represent the department at campus‑wide recruiting events.
- Participate in campus committees and engage in scholarly activities to further student growth and contribute to community service.
- Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and community partners.
- Be accessible to students on campus during weekdays.
- Ph.D. or DBA in Accounting from an accredited program (AACSB, ACBSP, or IACBE).
- Options for ABD candidates expected to complete their degree within one year of appointment; for candidates with an MS in Accounting and a CPA license.
- Prior experience in teaching and developing accounting courses listed in the description.
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness in in‑person, online, and hybrid formats.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Graduate‑level teaching experience in the accounting courses listed.
- Experience teaching forensic accounting and income taxation.
- Professional accounting experience outside academia.
- Positive student evaluations and evidence of teaching excellence.
- Current scholarly activity and positive impacts outside the classroom.
- Knowledge of and appreciation for liberal education and diversity.
- Certification in forensic accounting (optional).

- Full‑time, exempt position; salary range $64,963 – $188,620.
