** Job Description
** This on campus position would require teaching a variety of courses including but not limited to:
Principles of Accounting I, Principles of Accounting II, Intermediate Accounting I, Intermediate Accounting II, Cost Accounting I, Cost Accounting II, Federal Tax I, Federal Tax II, Accounting Information Systems, Advanced Accounting, Auditing, Forensic Accounting, Sustainability Accounting, and other courses as needed. Delivery methods include classroom and online instruction for undergraduate and graduate students. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, student club advising, involvement in department projects, assessment data collection, and activities representing the department at campus-wide recruiting events, and participation in campus committees.

Duties also include contribution to student growth and development, participation in department and institutional activities, evaluation of student performance, engagement in scholarly activities, and participation in service to the University and community. SMSU, in its commitment to meeting the region's service needs, expects faculty to engage in regional service, education, or study as part of their community service responsibility.

* Position Responsibilities:

*** Teaching and coordinating the courses and curricula for SMSU’s Accounting program
* Will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting
* Engage in additional activities to support the accounting program and the Business Innovation & Strategy Department, including but not limited to student recruitment and retention to enhance enrollment in the program, and Accounting Club mentorship.
* Meet the expectations of a full-time SMSU probationary faculty member as defined in the Minn State-IFO Agreement.
* Participate fully in the activities and programs of SMSU’s Business Innovation & Strategy Department
* Fulfill the expectations of a full-time probationary faculty member at SMSU in accordance with SMSU’s Assessment and Strategic Plan and its mission, vision, and values.
* The position will engage in scholarly and creative activity, continue preparation and study, contribute to student growth and development, and serve the SMSU Community.
* SMSU, in its commitment to meeting the service needs of the region, expects faculty to engage in regional service as part of their community service activities.
** Minimum Qualifications
*** Ph.D. or DBA with an emphasis in Accounting from a regionally accredited institution. Applicants who are ABD will be considered if degree requirements are expected to be completed before the appointment start date.
* Experience teaching and/or developing undergraduate accounting courses.
* Evidence of teaching experience in classroom, online, and/or hybrid instructional formats.
* Evidence of written communication skills through application materials and professional, academic, or scholarly work.
