Job Summary
Southwest Minnesota State University is seeking qualified applicants for an Athletics Administration Graduate Assistant for the 2026‑27 academic year in the athletic department.
Responsibilities- Game Management – work with athletic staff to conduct all event management needs for our 18 sports plus high school events.
- Assist with hiring workers for events
- Set up equipment to run events (scoreboards, chairs, etc.)
- Supervise workers during events
- Tear down equipment at end of events
- Marketing and Promotions – Work with Athletic Administration on all marketing and fund‑raising activities.
- Assist with planning promotional activities for home athletic events
- Administer game day promotions
- Assist with fund‑raising activities and community engagement events
- Video Production & Creative Services.
- Assist in producing the creative and visual storytelling direction for Mustang Athletics as well as help push the SMSU brand forward.
- Assist with streaming and live broadcasts for home sporting events.
- Assist with content creation for video content produced by the Mustang Athletics Department, including social videos, promotional videos, live events, and long‑themed features.
- Assist on Daktronics electronic media hardware, including courtside LED signage and video boards.
- Filming and editing with green screen and creative services projects.
- Other Duties.
- Assist with Mustang Club board meetings and communication
- Communicate/Fulfill on Corporate Sponsor contracts
- Athletic Fundraising
- Other Duties as Assigned
Qualifications include acceptance into graduate school, enrolling in a minimum of six credits per semester, and meeting Minnesota State vehicle driving qualifications. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in college athletics. Candidate review begins immediately and continues until the position is filled.
Compensation & BenefitsThe stipend is $8,000 plus 18 credit hours of tuition waiver per year.
