Role Overview
The Resource Nurse provides vital support in acute care settings by assisting in the most needed areas during each shift, including units such as Med/Surg, ICU, Emergency Department, and Long Term Care. They deliver individualized, efficient nursing care, demonstrating critical thinking and effective communication to respond to patient needs and clinical changes.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssisting in patient care, participating in interdisciplinary rounds, ensuring safety and emergency preparedness, supporting staff with technical skills, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives. They also serve as an IT resource for electronic health records and participate in training, trauma programs, and safety drills.
Qualifications & SkillsActive RN license, 4-6 years of Med/Surg experience, with ICU/ED experience preferred. Candidates should demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, confidentiality, and adherence to safety standards. Strong communication and clinical assessment skills are essential.
