Summary
In support of the mission, vision, values, and goals of the college, the Associate Dean of Students serves as the institution's senior officer responsible for student discipline, behavioral intervention, and Title IX compliance, while also supporting student success and campus well-being. The Dean ensures that student-related policies and procedures are administered consistently, equitably, and in full compliance with federal and state regulations, while fostering a campus culture grounded in accountability, safety, and respect.
Required Qualifications
* Master's degree in higher education administration, student affairs, law, counseling, or a related field.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in student conduct, Title IX, or compliance-related roles.
* Demonstrated expertise in administering student discipline processes.
* Working knowledge of Title IX regulations and higher education compliance requirements.
* Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters.
Preferred Qualifications
* Doctorate, Juris Doctor (JD), or advanced certification in Title IX or compliance.
* Experience serving as a Title IX Coordinator or Deputy Coordinator.
* Experience in crisis management and behavioral threat assessment.
* Background in residential or small-college environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as the chief administrator for the student conduct system, including investigations, hearings, sanctions, and appeals.
* Ensure fair, timely, and educational resolution of alleged policy violations.
* Oversee behavior intervention processes
* Address complex or high-risk student cases, including those involving safety, mental health concerns, or repeated misconduct.
* Serve as the institutional Title IX Coordinator.
* Ensure compliance with Title IX, Clery Act, FERPA, and related federal and state regulations.
* Oversee Title IX investigations, hearing processes, training, and prevention education.
* Maintain accurate records, reporting, and documentation required for compliance and audits.
* Collaborate with legal counsel, law enforcement, and external agencies as appropriate.
* Lead student-related crisis response, including sexual misconduct allegations, threats, and emergency situations.
* Participate in on-call rotation and emergency response teams.
* Develop and implement protocols for crisis intervention and student safety.
* Develop, review, and update student conduct codes, Title IX policies, and related procedures.
* Provide training for faculty, staff, and students on conduct expectations, Title IX, and mandatory reporting.
* Ensure clear communication of policies and procedures to the campus community.
* Supervise professional staff responsible for student conduct, Title IX coordination, and related functions.
* Work closely with Academic Affairs, Human Resources, Campus Safety, Athletics, and Residence Life.
* Serve on institutional committees related to compliance, risk management, and accreditation.
Skills and Competencies
* Ability to learn and adapt to changing college needs while maintaining up-to-date skills.
* Advanced organization, prioritization, and project management skills required.
* Experience with Google Workspace preferred; working knowledge of student databases and information systems preferred.
* Advanced interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally, confidentially, and courteously with a wide range of stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, including board members, college administration, faculty/staff, students, families, government officials, and the general public.
* Ability to move from building to building on campus and to travel to off-campus locations related to school business.
* Collegiality, professionalism, and a strong commitment to academic excellence and the institution's mission are essential qualifications.

* Strong investigative and documentation skills.
* Ability to communicate clearly in high-stakes and emotionally charged situations.
