Dean, School of Education & Social Sciences

Missouri Valley College invites applications for Dean, School of Education & Social Sciences. This position is a full-time, renewable, non-tenure track position. The Dean serves as the chief academic and administrative leader of the School, providing strategic vision, operational oversight, and performance accountability for all academic programs, faculty, and student success initiatives within the School. The Dean is responsible for advancing instructional quality, enrollment growth, retention, fiscal stewardship, accreditation compliance, faculty development, and alignment with the College's mission and strategic plan.

Qualifications

* Master's degree required; terminal degree preferred.

* Prior administrative experience in higher education required.

* Demonstrated leadership in academic program development and student success.

* Experience with assessment, accreditation, and faculty evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide academic leadership for program design, delivery, assessment, and continuous improvement.

* Prioritize student success metrics, including retention, persistence, and graduation.

* Lead program review, optimization, and curriculum development aligned with workforce needs.

* Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, institutional policies, and academic integrity expectations.

* Supervise and evaluate faculty and academic staff, including recruitment, mentoring, and professional development.

* Collaborate with Admissions, Marketing, and Student Success to support enrollment growth and recruitment initiatives.

* Develop partnerships with community organizations, schools, and employers to strengthen pipelines and experiential learning opportunities.

* Lead strategic planning and innovation, including development of certificates, microcredentials, and new program pathways.

* Manage School operations, including budgeting, course scheduling, faculty workload, and academic documentation.

* Serve as a collaborative institutional leader, representing the School on campus committees and engaging alumni and external stakeholders.
