Plant Controller

Responsibilities

• Manage planning and direction of departmental projects for two manufacturing facilities (Marshall, MO and Macon, MO), ensuring efficient operation and cost effectiveness of financial systems and programs.
• Provide leadership to staff, partner with business stakeholders to support sound financial decisions, and lead small teams and ad hoc project groups.
• Perform business partnering, analytics, annual operating plan and strategic planning work, monthly forecasting, metrics and scorecard development, and period close responsibilities.
• Recruit, select, orient, and train employees, and support their development.
• Coach, counsel, and guide employees; plan, monitor, and appraise job results; conduct training; and implement systems, policies, and procedures.
• Serve as a business partner for Operations on all accounting and finance matters, assessing needs, resolving risks and opportunities, and communicating results.
• Lead preparation and compilation of the annual operating plan and strategic plan for assigned portions of the profit and loss statement and related balance sheet accounts.
• Manage the monthly financial forecast and provide forward‑looking, actionable insights to business partners.
• Participate in monthly consensus meetings related to volume, capital expenditures, and other supply‑chain activities.
• Lead month‑end and quarter‑end close activities, ensuring accurate and timely resolution of unusual items.
• Deliver comprehensive financial analysis and business models for product development, customer analysis, competitive analysis, pricing, and other business needs.
• Lead cross‑functional project work in financial disciplines, including financial planning and analysis, new product development, manufacturing investments, and in‑market investments.
• Develop metrics, scorecards, and reporting for assigned functions and provide periodic updates to leadership.
• Support finance‑wide projects based on business needs.

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
• Master’s degree (MBA), Certified Public Accountant, or Certified Management Accountant preferred.
• Minimum seven years of professional business and financial experience.
• Experience managing a team.
• Background in cost accounting, profit and loss statement management, and familiarity with financial systems and general accounting concepts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with SAP or similar tools.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with internal partners and peers.
• Proven ability to work in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment with ambiguity and change.
• Demonstrated experience leading or completing cross‑departmental projects.
• Critical‑thinking skills, including analytics, benchmarking, and insight generation.

Salary range: $107,000‑$156,000 per year.
