Sports Information Assistant Position

Missouri Valley College is accepting applications for the role of Sports Information Assistant. The full-time position will work directly with the Associate Athletic Director of Sports Information, focusing on game coverage and communications for Missouri Valley College’s athletic department and athletic programs.

• Assist the Director of Sports Information in planning, organizing, and coordinating media relations and public communications for athletic programs.
• Manage the Athletic Department’s social media platforms to promote athletic programs, student-athletes, institutional achievements, and the college’s mission and values.
• Write and distribute press releases, game recaps, feature stories, and media communications to students, faculty, and staff through email, website, and social media platforms.
• Assist with game-day operations, including live game statistics, event coverage, photography, videography, and content creation for multiple sports programs.
• Update and maintain the athletics website with current schedules, scores, statistics, rosters, news releases, and other relevant sports information.

• Experience in athletic communications, sports media or related field
• Broad understanding of rules and concepts for the sports sponsored at Missouri Valley College
• Ability to create written, digital and video content
• Knowledge of social media strategy, statistics, writing, graphic design and video editing
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva
• Ability to work under deadline, in outdoor conditions and flexible hours to include nights and weekends.
