NWCS - Care Professional; Coach); SCP

Northwest Community Services is recruiting for a Support Care Professional, to be a part of a highly

effective team that supports over 500 employees, that makes a difference in the lives of adults with developmental disabilities. NWCS is a state operated program within the Department of Mental Health and supports 130+ individuals receiving 24/7 residential services in their own homes across four counties. This position will be domiciled with the Marshall Coaching team and primarily support staff working at Optimistic Beginnings.

The Support Care Professional must be detail orientated, work well with others, have good time management skills, possess leadership skills, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be proficient with Microsoft Excel and other computer programs and be willing to travel and work a flexible schedule.

Strengthen DSP/BT skills and productivity by coaching and ensuring fidelity in areas of positive behavior supports crisis management training, person-centered strategies and plans, DMH/NWCS policies and procedures, NWCS core values, etc. Provide coaching to increase desired behaviors and interactions from individuals supported and improve the lives of the individuals served by ensuring the DSP/BT’s working directly with the individuals perform at a high level and successfully meet all standards of care.

Improve retention rates of DSP/BT’s by ensuring DSP/BT’s are well trained beyond the classroom in a positive coaching environment which will lead to lower turnover of staff, better consistency across shifts, higher staff morale, less reportable events, etc. Coaches will lead to better talent development of the DSP/BT’s and assist DSP/BT’s in maintaining compliance to individual support plans, DMH/NWCS policies and procedures.

• A valid driver’s license
• GED/HS Diploma

• 2 to 5 years of coaching/mentor experience,
• Bachelor’s degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience (Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant)

Scheduled to work 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with Saturday and Sunday as days off, with flexibility as needed.
