City Driver

Position Overview

Con Agra Brands in Marshall, Missouri is seeking qualified individuals for city driver positions in the shipping/receiving department. Shift: 2:00 PM‑10:00 PM. Hourly rate: $23.34 an hour plus $0.50 shift differential. Overtime availability is based on business needs. Must be flexible to work any shift or workweek.

• Startup: Perform Pre / Post trip safety check on the vehicle following DOT regulations.
• Locate and Attach Trailer: Locate yard tractor in the yard, climb into the vehicle using a handle 60" from ground level, use the steps to reach the cab floor (12"–20" steps up to 36"); bring the controls within reach (18"–24"). Communicate with the loader by two‑way radio. Ensure that the trailer doors are open and secure. Attach trailer to the yard tractor, manually crank the landing gear up (reach 18"/42" above ground, push 50lb to turn up) and connect the brake lines.
• Transport Trailers To and From Loading Dock: Guide the yard tractor and trailer to the appropriate loading dock or yard storage location.
• Secure Trailer / Remove Tractor: Secure the trailer by manually cranking the landing gear to the ground (reach 18"/42" above ground, push 40lb), remove the 5th wheel pin (32" reach/45" above ground level/50lb static pull). Release the brake lines, ensure the trailer is secured, and guide the yard tractor away.
• Maintenance and Clean‑up: Red tag the trailer or tractor for maintenance. Check all fluids by pulling open the hood (35lb static force) and release bungee latches. Conduct trailer inspections for holes, leaks, or other damage. Guide the yard tractor to the fuel island for fueling and daily service. Clean out cab and dispose of trash in proper receptacles.

• At least one year of manufacturing experience.
• Requires a Class A CDL license; DOT requires current DOT Physical.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Frequent climbing 14" steps and 2–3" steps.
• Frequent driving of tractor‑switcher.
• Frequent sitting and reaching.
• Post‑offer drug screen and background screen.
