Job Description

TSTC faculty deliver approved curriculum, content, and assessments in an applied learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate activities and discussions that engage a range of learning styles with targeted guidance and mentorship to students
  • Interpret and administer assessments, and offer constructive feedback to support student growth and learning outcomes
  • Integrate technology effectively to enrich educational experiences
  • Act as ambassadors for their programs and TSTC
  • Demonstrate TSTC Core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students and community members
  • Prepare and deliver high quality instruction, develop course syllabi and instructional plans, and organize daily classes using creative and innovative techniques
  • Fulfill assigned schedule, maintain accurate student records, maintain instructional environments with an emphasis on safety, equipment security where applicable, and provide opportunities for student/participant evaluation
  • Perform student advisement to provide students with timely, accurate, and comprehensive information; collaborate with the Office of Student Success to ensure students receive current information on tutoring and other programs designed to increase retention
  • Participate in related tours and recruitment events; assist in department/program planning for recruitment
  • Demonstrate willingness to serve customers (students, parents, employers, media), coworkers, and the general public; maintain flexibility with availability for evening, weekend, and summer assignments; work effectively in a team environment; and commit to the mission, vision and values of the college
  • Deliver high quality instruction, tailor teaching methods to diverse learning styles and needs, provide personalized guidance and support, express ideas clearly and foster open communication, create and utilize assessments for constructive feedback and learning guidance, continually evaluate and improve teaching strategies, and use technology to enhance learning experiences
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Certifications or Licenses
  • Verifiable work experience with industrial equipment
  • Strong electrical/programming skills
  • Working knowledge of electrical motor control systems
  • Working knowledge of electrical motor control schematics
  • Working knowledge of maintenance of industrial equipment
  • Working knowledge of mechanical power transmission systems
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Certifications or Licenses
  • Working knowledge of basic fluid power (hydraulic and pneumatic) systems
  • Working knowledge of basic PLC operation and programming
  • Working knowledge of programming electrical speed control systems (AC/DC drives)
  • Working knowledge of basic machining and welding
  • Related teaching experience
Education and Experience

Verifiable and demonstrated experience required.
