** Job Description
** The English Program at Southwest Minnesota State University is seeking applications for instructors to serve in its adjunct faculty pool for future courses as needed. Possible assignments could include teaching ENG 099:
Introduction to Academic Writing, ENG 151:
Academic Writing, and ENG 251:
Writing in Professions, various Literature courses, and/or serving as a mentor to regional high school English teachers providing our dual credit English courses through our College Now program. All applicants should be prepared to maintain programmatic standards, teach from a common curriculum developed for the course, and be available for students outside of class time. Suitable candidates must have at least a Master’s or M.F.A. degree in English, teaching or related experience, and experience with online course management systems.
Depending on the course coverage needed, a class might be scheduled as on-campus or online (synchronous or asynchronous). Applicants for the College Now dual credit-related assignment must be able to travel and visit regional high schools periodically and be available to consult with high school teachers on a flexible schedule. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue as adjunct needs are identified in the program.

** Compensation is per credit, the current credit rate is a minimum of $1844 per credit.

*** Master of Arts in English (or related field) or Master of Fine Arts in English (or related field)
* Experience teaching at the university level
* Experience teaching with online course management systems

The successful candidate must be authorized to work in the United States by the first day of employment. The University will not give consideration for H-1B sponsorship. Employment or Visa sponsorship, other than H-1B status, must be pre-approved by the University prior to offer acceptance.
