Job Purpose:

The Cafeteria Utility Worker at Wiley University plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and cleanliness of the cafeteria. This position is responsible for maintaining a sanitary environment, assisting with food preparation, and supporting the overall dining experience for students, faculty, and staff.

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the cafeteria, including washing dishes, cleaning tables, and sweeping floors.
• Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen staff, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Set up and break down dining areas before and after meal services, including arranging furniture and equipment as needed.
• Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and kitchen equipment, reporting any shortages or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
• Support the cafeteria team in delivering excellent customer service by addressing any inquiries or concerns from patrons.
• Follow all established procedures for waste disposal and recycling, contributing to the college's sustainability efforts.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient workflow and a positive dining environment for all visitors.

Required

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Experience:

• Previous experience in a food service or cafeteria setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with basic cleaning and sanitation procedures in a food service environment.
