Job SummaryProvides onsite management for project implementation of large-scale construction projects. Responsibilities include contractor evaluation and selection, safety, quality, engineering, construction, quality, startup testing, performance testing, and environmental compliance testing. Responsible for tracking the project against its schedule, reporting status to management and customer on a regular basis, and implementing processes in a timely, safe, cost effective and environmentally conscious way.

Primary Accountabilities- Manage field personnel to monitor day‑to‑day activities and provide oversight to Contractors and Subcontractors.
- Identify construction specification errors and ensure construction is in accordance with contract specifications and applicable codes.
- Assure safe and efficient work methods are utilized.
- Ensure execution and practice of all safety policies and procedures by all construction employees and promote a strong safety culture throughout the company and project.
- With assistance of the safety department, investigate accidents and safety incidents; communicate safety investigation information to management.
- Administer and monitor safety programs and perform safety assessments.
- Be accountable for performance measurements and standards of associated process using quality control and quality assurance processes.
- Demonstrate understanding of performance measures and utilize information to improve processes (cost control, scheduling, execution, safety).
- Communicate construction progress to stakeholders related to Safety, Production, Risk, Schedule, Finance, and Quality; report any situations requiring management attention immediately.
- Provide management and coordination with external contractors and equipment manufacturers; support site permitting processes, equipment selection, project design specifications, development of project schedules and cost estimates.
- Provide onsite contractor interface, local government interface, community relations.
- Understand and enforce rules set by regulatory bodies (e.g., DOT, OSHA, DNR).
- Interface with internal project team personnel, customers, supervise employees on a daily basis; develop project Punch Lists and ensure completion.
- Validate milestones and/or quantities submitted by contractors for payment; assist in the resolution of field problems as appropriate.
- Ensure quality of construction through continuous monitoring of construction and installation QC processes.
Performs work under the general supervision of a Manager or Director. Supervises the work of professional, non‑exempt, and bargaining unit employees, contractors, and subcontractors engaged in construction activities.
QualificationsRequired and preferred qualifications are listed below.
Required/Preferred- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- 8 years of professional experience in construction related positions (e.g., management, project controls, QA/QC)
- 3 years of supervisory experience
- Experience in large electric construction, gas and electric operations, project management, or related area
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.

- Demonstrated experience working with labor union management preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety rules and applicable building codes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction standards, work methods, equipment, maintenance practices and materials. Ability to read and understand maps, plan and profiles, and drawings.
- Demonstrated management skills.
- Demonstrated financial skills such as developing a budget, interpreting and understanding financial reports, and financial evaluations.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e‑mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management).
