• Lead the Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L‑PBF) part development pipeline, acting as a consultant for part selection, process selection, optimization, qualification, and implementation.
• Design innovative, production‑ready components by creating 3D models and assemblies optimized for additive manufacturing to improve quality, cost, and speed.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams, clearly communicating timelines, risks, and solutions while influencing design decisions across multiple stakeholders.
• Create rough stock and finish‑machined drawings, considering GD&T requirements, inspection capabilities, and downstream machining processes.
• Develop, build, and test prototypes, working hands‑on in the Additive Technology Lab.
• Contribute to the advancement of Emerson’s additive manufacturing standards, engineering practices, and internal best‑practice documentation.
• Support continuous improvement by initiating engineering change requests and documenting post‑build results to inform and refine future designs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least one year of experience with additive manufacturing; co‑op or internship experience is valued.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Flexibility to occasionally work off‑hours and/or travel to collaborate with global teams across different time zones.
