Structural Simulation Engineer
Emerson is currently seeking a Structural Simulation Engineer in Marshalltown, IA. The individual selected for this critical role will be responsible for the application of FEA technologies in solving business critical problems related to loads on structures. This role is primarily focused on providing FEA analyses to the Fisher Controls Business Units and larger organization, but would also include opportunities to contribute to the development of new simulation capabilities.
As a Structural Simulation Engineer You Will:
- Independently perform, interpret and report assigned analyses within the scope of Simulation Best Practices (SBP)
- Support senior simulation engineers in developing new simulation capabilities
- Identify and implement improvements and automations to simulation workflows.
- Liaise with assigned design groups and actively follow design projects.
- Review other's work for appropriate model setup and properties.
- Ensure compliance of analysis activities to internal standards.
- Evaluate Emerson products for adequate pressure boundary design per ASME and internal standards
- Evaluate proposed designs for fatigue, vibration, and thermal effects, to ensure robust products across a wide range of operating conditions

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics or other related field is required
- Working knowledge of fundamental physics associated with structural mechanics
- Entry level knowledge of Python
- Legal authorization to work in the US - visa sponsorship will not be provided
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Experience with fluids or structural simulation
- Experience with product development or sustaining engineering
- Strong CAD skills to manipulate and modify geometry
- Knowledge of Linux operating system
- Practical experience with AI or creating AI Agents
