Export Trade Compliance Analyst

Trade Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with numerous, technical, legal and regulatory requirements associated with the company’s cross-border movement of goods and services; to mitigate the risk of such activities; optimize the financial impact of the company’s trade compliance activities through trade program management.

• Support Emerson Global Trade Compliance efforts to maintain and enhance Emerson Process Management and Fisher process and procedures regarding regulated trade activities (imports, exports, trade programs).
• Perform basic legislative and regulatory impact analysis.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable import and export regulatory requirements.
• Perform export transaction screening and escalation as necessary.
• Strong problem solving skills and analytical capabilities.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities simultaneously; set priorities in a fast paced environment and work both independently and as a team.
• Correspond with external organizations such as customs agents, freight forwarders/agents and carriers.
• Perform regular import/export operational compliance audits per Emerson and Trade Compliance Management System guidelines to ensure due diligence/reasonable care with regulatory requirements and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Resolution of compliance activities (government and/or corporate audits and inquiries; support on compliance issues.
• Determine the proper jurisdiction and classification of company products/buyouts, technology and services.
