Position: Non-Certified Nursing Aide - Iowa Veterans Home

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program

Do you have a passion for caring for our nation's veterans? Interested in entering the healthcare field but do not have a current C.N.A certificate? The Iowa Veterans Home has a new program just for you! We will provide you with the opportunity to become a certified CNA through attending a 76-hour course, on site, at the Iowa Veterans, as well as completed lab, and clinical sections of the course.

Current openings for this position are for evening shift with core hours from 2:00 pm-10:30 pm and for night shift with core hours from 8:15 pm to 6:15 am. Will work every other weekend. This program requires a two-part interview process. Part one includes an in-person interview. Selected candidates will then be scheduled for part two, an unpaid job shadow within the nursing units of the Iowa Veterans Home.

Upon completion of the job shadow an evaluation will determine qualification for the position. More information will be provided during the interview. Starting Pay: $19.43/hr Duties within the CNA role includes performing basic personal care of residents while following a plan of care developed by the care team to meet the resident needs.
