The Iowa Veterans Home is a long‑term care facility located in Marshalltown, Iowa, with the mission of providing exceptional resident‑centered care and the highest quality of life to Iowa’s Veterans and spouses.
Schedule Options- 3‑day work week; 14‑hour shifts, either 6 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. or 3:45 p.m. – 6:15 a.m.; working one weekend out of every four.
- 8‑hour evening shift, 2 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.; working every other weekend.
- 10‑hour night shift, 8:15 p.m. – 6:15 a.m.; working every other weekend.
- Weekend package shift options available with retention payments up to $5,000 paid over 26 pay periods. Lodging and meals available upon request.
- Perform basic personal care of residents following a plan of care developed by the primary nurse to meet individual resident care needs.
- Complete documentation and sign off in resident charts and care plans.
- Certified Med Aides will pass medications as indicated on the medication administration record (MAR).
- Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant.
- Basic nursing skills and ability to work independently.
- All applicants are subject to a Criminal Background Check, Dependent Adult Abuse, and Child Abuse Check.
- Designated positions in this job class require applicants to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License or Chauffeur’s License and endorsements within a period of time as determined by the appointing authority at the time of hire.
