Position Overview

The Iowa Veterans Home is a long‑term care facility located in Marshalltown, Iowa, with the mission of providing exceptional resident‑centered care and the highest quality of life to Iowa’s Veterans and spouses.

This full‑time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position starts at $19.43 per hour. The role includes basic personal care of residents, completing documentation, and passing medications as indicated on the medication administration record (MAR).

• 3 day work week; 14‑hour shifts either 6:00 a.m.–8:30 p.m. or 3:45 p.m.–6:15 a.m.; works 1 out of 4 weekends
• 8‑hour evening shift (2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m.); works every other weekend
• 10‑hour night shift (8:15 p.m.–6:15 a.m.); works every other weekend
• Weekend package shift options are available with retention payments up to $5,000 paid over 26 pay periods. Lodging and meals are available upon request.

Perform basic personal care of residents following the plan of care developed by the primary nurse.

Complete documentation and sign off in resident charts and care plans.

Pass medications as indicated on the MAR.

• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
