Travel RN - Emergency Dept

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring 24 months of recent ER experience and IA or compact RN licensure.

• Active IA or compact RN license required
• 24 months of current/recent ER experience required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required and must be active
• De-escalation certification (SAMA, MAB, MOAB, or CPI) preferred, can be obtained during onboarding
• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred, can be obtained during onboarding
• Recent travel nursing experience highly preferred
• Epic EMR experience highly preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Supervisory performance evaluation or reference from within 24 months preferred

• Emergency Services unit with 16 beds
• Cares for trauma, stroke, OB, and advanced cardiac patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
• Administers critical drips
• Night shift, 7p-7a, 36 hours per week
• Every 3rd weekend required, including holidays when scheduled
• No blocked scheduling or 48-hour shifts
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) unless the unit is closed
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
• Scrub colors limited to navy, black, or gray solids for tops and bottoms
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered non-local
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN) may be restricted from travel assignments at other UPH facilities within 12 months of separation
