Non-Destructive Testing Technician; NDT

Whether you’re just starting out or looking to pivot into a new field, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you in Non‑Destructive Examination (NDE). Based in our high‑tech production facility in Marshalltown, Iowa, you’ll be part of a team that manufactures large, custom‑designed control valves used in critical applications around the world.

This role will begin on the first shift for the first 2–3 years and then transition to the second shift.

• Perform ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, and visual inspections on in‑process materials.
• Ensure products meet quality standards using industry‑recognized testing methods.
• Collaborate with operations, suppliers, and customers to maintain high‑quality outcomes.
• Support and maintain NDE documentation, certifications, and compliance records.
• Help keep the NDE facility organized, safe, and efficient.
• Participate in audits and contribute to process improvements.

• A degree, diploma, certificate, or coursework in a related technical field (e.g., manufacturing, engineering, industrial technology), or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• Basic understanding of inspection or quality control concepts is a plus.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available for this role.

• Familiarity with NDE methods or certifications (ASNT, AWS).
• Experience in a manufacturing or quality‑focused environment.
• Knowledge of industry standards (ASME, ANSI, ISO 9000).
