Counter Associate

Job Type: Full‑time

Overview

A Counter Associate/Representative at PSE Group performs customer service activities within a store environment, sells product to walk‑in customers and proactively calls preferred end‑user customers. The role focuses heavily on automotive and specialty coatings and related products and equipment.

Job Duties
  • Perform customer service activities including receiving and entering telephone orders, answering questions, and tracking order status and product shipments.
  • Serve counter sales to in‑store customers.
  • Mix paint and prepare customer orders for delivery or pick‑up.
  • Reconcile inventory and stock merchandise in the store.
  • Provide sales support to outside sales team.
  • Maintain customer records and files, including accurate account setup and pricing.
  • Prepare paint orders, including mixing with standard formulas and custom formulas.
  • Clean and maintain all areas and equipment as assigned; ensure maintenance of mixing equipment as needed.
  • Conduct service in a professional manner to meet customer quality and service expectations.
  • Maintain Color Room records including non‑conformance reports, tint usage, can usage, mis‑tints, etc., and perform necessary inventory transfers.
  • Assist with inside customer service as needed, including servicing customers and/or processing their orders.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls in a professional manner, answer all inquiries, and take customer orders.
  • Properly dispose of waste materials and products in compliance with company and governmental regulations.
Additional Duties
  • Full knowledge to perform duties of other role functions as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ year of experience in customer service, inside sales, or counter sales preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work as a team player.
  • Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Tolerable to the smell of paint.
  • Candidates must submit to a drug screen and meet acceptable Motor Vehicle Report requirements upon hiring.
