Job Title: Experienced Journeyman Line person

This position assists with installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of overhead fiber lines and systems.

• Assist in construction, operation, maintenance, and repair of distribution and substation facilities and systems, including reconductoring existing lines.
• Attend service calls concerning power outages and electrical problems.
• Receive training in book/classroom and on‑the‑job skills; must pass ongoing training to progress to higher skill levels.
• Perform work at varying heights, in manholes, and/or in confined spaces.
• Operate motorized equipment, use hand tools, and perform routine maintenance on electrical equipment, machinery, and tools.
• Follow safety guidelines as part of training.
• Stock and service vehicles to be equipped to respond to emergency situations.
• Work nights, weekends, and holidays for extended periods; required to perform duties as part of recovery force during emergencies and disasters.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Possess problem‑solving mental cognition.
• Able to work with hands above head for extended periods.
• Walk, climb, and work from ladders or at various heights; able to perform mentally and physically demanding work on uneven, slippery surfaces, and in unfavorable weather while handling equipment or material.
• Meet and maintain weight restrictions for bucket truck and other equipment.
• Work efficiently and effectively from heights.
• Identify hazards on the job.
• Climb a power pole using climbing hooks and belt.
• Drive assigned vehicles, operate digger derrick to set poles, and use jackhammer and related equipment.
• Work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, and weekends; subject to call‑out work.

• Journeyman Line person Certification required.

• Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre‑employment drug screen, background check, and/or MVR check.

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) required.

• Respond to emergencies during holidays, weekends, and national disasters.
• May require travel away from the show‑up area.
