Firmware Engineer CoOp

JOB DESCRIPTION In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Firmware Development Tools & Infrastructure (70%)

• Develop and enhance firmware build automation and tool chains
• Create CI workflows and automated testing solutions
• Integrate code quality, security, and static analysis tools
• Improve source control, code review, and release processes
• Document and standardize development workflows

Embedded Firmware Implementation (30%)

• Develop firmware for next-generation actuator platforms
• Assist with BSP, driver, and application software development
• Debug firmware and support hardware bring-up activities
• Participate in product validation and testing
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams

• You identify and seize new opportunities! You are innovative and have outstanding attention to detail. You excel in both small and large team project settings while openly asking questions to ensure successful completion of complicated or unfamiliar tasks.

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related engineering discipline
• Strong foundation in engineering fundamentals and problem-solving
• Experience or coursework in embedded systems development
• Familiarity with C/C++ programming
• Exposure to software development processes, version control, and debugging tools
• Ability to interpret technical documentation, schematics, and data sheets
• Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively

• Experience with:
  • Version control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce)
  • Continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure Dev Ops, Git Hub Actions)
  • Personal, academic, or team-based embedded software projects
• Familiarity with:
  • Embedded debugging tools and techniques
  • Real-time operating systems (RTOS)
  • Static analysis and unit testing frameworks
  • Secure software development practices
