Student Help
Guide and support fellow students as a tutor in the Learning and Teaching Center (TLC) Tutoring program. This position is no longer accepting applications, and is currently closed for Fall 2025.

- Completed at least one semester at UW‑SP with at least two semesters remaining
- Demonstrate a strong grasp of course material and/or written skills evidenced by a 3.0 GPA or above and/or a faculty recommendation letter
- Available to tutor for at least two semesters
- Willing to work with peers in a collaborative, inclusive learning environment
- Enjoy helping others learn
- Provide tutoring and support in one of our service areas
- Assist learners in developing effective study skills and test‑taking strategies
- Learn and continually apply TLC and tutoring program procedures
- Regularly check staff email and communicate with other staff members
- Attend required orientations, meetings, and training sessions
- Deliver effective tutoring sessions to meet student needs
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and tutoring hours
- Collaborate with TLC staff to improve tutoring methods and materials
- Adhere to all university policies and confidentiality requirements
