Department: The Office of Student Experience and Transformation (SET), University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP)
Position Type: Part-Time (Academic year, up to 10 hours per week)
Reports To: Director of SET and UWSP-Marshfield Campus Staff
Position Summary:
The SET Student Ambassador serves as a visible representative of SET, to help spread awareness of the office's services, events, and impact across UWSP-Marshfield Campus. This position will:
1) support critical public relations and outreach, strengthening SET's presence among students and ensuring students are informed and feel a sense of belonging throughout SET and UWSP;
2) help cultivate student's access to SET's services, which includes transformational programming, enhancing student experience, achieving academic success, and supporting leadership development; and
3) they will work in close collaboration with the Marshfield Campus staff and student staff to help students connect, build community, and achieve success in and out of the classroom.
Compensation: $12 per hour
Hours: Up to 10 hours per week
Responsibilities:
1. Represent SET at campus-wide initiatives to build visibility and engagement: The SET Student Ambassador serves as a key point of connection between SET and students y attend campus wide events, tabling opportunities, panels, and presentations as a student voice of the office. This position will provide brief overviews, share student-centered perspectives, and invite students to participate in SET's enhancement of the student experience and academic support efforts.

Support Operations, Co-Design Programming, and Serve as a Lead Collaborator for SET at Marshfield Campus
:
The SET Student Ambassador plays a key role in supporting the daily functioning of their assigned center/office area. They assist with task management, create, and communicate with the students and staff to ensure center/office goals are met and day-to-day operations run smoothly. They help oversee opening and closing routines, space maintenance, and event preparation. Their operational leadership allows the center/office to function as a reliable, trusted space on campus for all who enter.
They co-designs events, workshops, and student-centered initiatives that support the student engagement, experience, and academic needs of students. They assist with outreach efforts by promoting events and assisting with representation of the center/office at campus-wide engagement opportunities.
3. Serve as an outreach liaison to student organizations and UWSP initiatives: The SET Student Ambassador will attend student organization meetings on a rotating basis, particularly student organizations that are supported through SET and Marshfield Campus Student Government Association
. In these spaces, they will offer updates on SET services, upcoming events/programming, scholarships/grants and financial literacy opportunities, employment, etc. The SET Student Ambassador will serve as a representative on the Marshfield Campus events committee, support Lawton Grant's requirement activities, and other campus wide collaborations that align with student engagement, student experience, and retention.
4. Support SET communication and collect student feedback: The SET Student Ambassador will collect informal student feedback, support student inquiries, and identify any gaps in communication. This collection of student feedback will enhance SET's strategy with supporting UWSP students. The SET Student Ambassador serves as a student voice and advocate, which will help SET continue to uplift student voices while ensuring the mission of supporting student experience and academic success at UWSP.

Other Expectations: Represent SET and UWSP in a manner that exemplifies genuine respect and professionalism. Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in mentoring relationships. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Be in good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)
- Sophomore (2nd year) standing preferred
- Strong public speaking, peer engagement, and interpersonal communication skills
- Familiar with UWSP Campus (i.e., Academic resources, campus activities)
- Reliable and comfortable representing department throughout UWSP campus
- Ability to address sensitive concerns of students in a professional, tactful, and confidential manner
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain professionalism.
- Ability to foster an open, friendly, and engaging environment that supports and respects the diverse needs of students
