Job DutiesProvide student‑facing academic coaching and support to UWSP at Marshfield students. Support other student support operations and projects as needed. Candidate will be required to teach a post‑secondary learning course as part of the workload.
Key Job Responsibilities- Assesses learner performance and prepares reports recommending instructional improvements.
- Participates in strategic planning and grant proposals for instructional development, new teaching methods, and program direction.
- Develops teaching techniques that enhance course effectiveness in alignment with desired outcomes and established strategy, and may train other staff in using these techniques.
- Supervises the day‑to‑day activities of work unit employees involved in instructional support.
- Provides supplemental instruction for students enrolled in classroom, online, and/or laboratory courses in a variety of formats such as one‑on‑one sessions, group sessions, peer mentor sessions, and seminars.
- Develops and designs curriculum and instructional techniques for a disciplinary area, suggesting new ways of effective instruction within that discipline.
- Meets with students for intake and general assessment, and makes referrals to other campus resources as appropriate.
- Assists in defining program objectives and plays a major role in carrying out program duties.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- One year of experience broadly supporting academic skills and learning development or student growth and development processes.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collegially in a student‑centered environment.
- Master’s degree (or alternative credentials required for post‑secondary teaching).
- Three years of experience broadly supporting academic skills and learning development or student growth and development processes.
Annual salary range: $47,000 – $50,000, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications. Eligible UW employees receive a comprehensive benefits package.
