JOB SUMMARY
The Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner, is a skilled member of the allied health care team who is qualified both academically and clinically to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physician. The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner works within a cooperative unit, utilizing team effort with health care providers, co-workers, and the public to provide positive patient interaction.
In this role, you will provide hospital support and rounding, ordering tests, and conducts pre-op and post-op care.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATIONFor positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum
Required:
Master's Degree in Nursing or Graduate of a nationally accredited Physician Assistant Program.
Preferred/Optional: None
EXPERIENCEMinimum
Required:
None
Preferred/Optional: Two years nursing experience or one to two years' experience in specialty.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSESThe following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum
Required:
- Current State of Wisconsin Nurse License or Nurse Compact License, and Nurse Practitioner Licensure or Certification from the National Commission on Certifications of Physician Assistants.
- Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
- Additional department-specific certifications, licenses, or memberships may be required (varies by department/location).
Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
