Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 2 years of IR experience, ACLS/BLS certification, and proficiency in Cerner EMR.
Responsibilities- Acute care setting in a Level 2 trauma environment
- Work primarily in IR/Vascular with 7 procedure rooms total (4 Cath/EP and 3 IR/Vascular labs)
- Typical procedures include port placements, liver biopsy, IVC placements, g-tube, PICC & central line placements, neurovascular interventions, fem-pop, AAA repair, carotids, EVAR, and angiography
- Average daily caseload is 20+ procedures across all labs
- Rotating schedule with option for 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM–5:30 PM) or 5x8-hour shifts (7:00 AM–3:30 PM);
Monday to Friday - Call required once every third weekday and once every third weekend, with a 30-minute response time
- Potential hybrid floating for vascular cases as needed
- EMR systems include Cerner (transitioning to Epic) and Merge, with Siemens equipment used
- Responsibilities include preparing procedure suites, calibrating/troubleshooting equipment, pulling supplies, maintaining sterile field, assisting physicians, managing radiation dose, and room turnover
- Team structure consists of 1 RN and 2 techs in IR, anesthesia support for neuro cases, and a STEMI call team
- Department provides 2–3 days of orientation and shadowing, with initial call partnered with a buddy
- Scrubs provided, with option to wear personal scrub caps
- Holiday call coverage may be required
- Previous employees must have a minimum 6-month gap before reapplying
- Candidates living within 80 miles are considered local and subject to a reduced rate
- Minimum of 2 years recent Interventional Radiology experience required
- Active ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications required
- Proficiency with IR/vascular procedures and Siemens equipment
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR; experience with Epic is a plus
- Ability to scrub in, assist with guidewire/catheter manipulation, device exchange, balloon and stent deployment, and manage radiation safety
- Two professional references required: one from a supervisor within the past 12 months and one from a peer or supervisor within the past 3 years
- License required if applicable
