32 hours/week, Mon-Fri, day shifts (United States of America)
JOB SUMMARY
The Athletic Trainer - Clinical functions as part of a team that includes the patient, physician, and other support staff. Under the direction of the consulting physician and per written protocol, the athletic trainer obtains patient history, performs initial physical examinations, relays findings to the physician, and consults with the physician to establish a plan of care. The trainer acts as a scribe for the physician, dictating visit summaries in the medical record and completing charges appropriately.
They fit crutches, braces, and other durable medical equipment, assist with post-operative care for orthopedic injuries, and provide patient education regarding procedures and care plans.
Education:
- Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited athletic training program (CAATE) or related fields such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, or kinesiology. - Preferred:
Master’s degree in athletic training.

Athletic Training Fellowship with Physician Extender emphasis
- Minimum:
Certification as an Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification, licensure in Wisconsin, and BLS certification within three months of hire. - Preferred:
Orthopedic Specialty Certification and BLS at time of hire.
