American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 2+ years of IR experience for an acute care Level 2 trauma facility.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of IR experience required
  • BLS, ACLS, and ARRT certifications required
  • Professional license required if applicable
  • Acute care, Level 2 trauma facility experience preferred
  • Cerner EMR experience preferred as facility transitions to Epic
  • Must be able to scrub in and assist physicians with device exchange, guidewire manipulation, catheter placement, balloon and stent deployment, and sheath removals
  • Must be able to manage radiation dose and imaging angles
Responsibilities
  • Acute care setting within a Level 2 trauma facility
  • IR/Vascular Tech unit with 7 total procedure suites (4 Cath Lab/EP, 3 IR/Vascular)
  • Average of 20+ cases per day across all rooms
  • IR cases include port placements, liver biopsies, IVC placements, G-tube placements, PICC and central line placements, and neuro procedures (coiling, thrombectomy, embolizations) with anesthesia support
  • Vascular cases include fem-pops, AAA repair, carotids, EVAR, and angios
  • Uses Cerner and Merge EMR systems, and Siemens equipment
  • 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM with a rotating day off; will consider 5x8 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Call rotation of approximately 3 weeknights per week and every 3rd weekend (Friday-Monday)
  • May be required to take holiday call
  • Call response time of 30 minutes
  • Hybrid floating required for vascular cases
  • Daily staffing typically includes 1 RN and 2 Techs for IR, with anesthesia support for neuro cases
  • Responsibilities include preparing procedure suites, ensuring radiation safety setup, calibrating and troubleshooting fluoro and hemodynamic monitoring equipment, and performing room turnover
  • 2-3 full days of unit-specific orientation with shadowing and buddy call; no call first week, buddy call second week, independent call after
  • Scrubs are provided, though candidates may wear their own scrub caps
  • All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
  • Local candidates within 80 miles of the facility are considered but receive a reduced pay rate
  • Previous facility employees are not accepted unless their end date was at least 6 months prior to submission
  • First-time travelers may be considered
