Vascular Technologist Position Overview

The Vascular Technologist will play a vital role in providing high-quality care within an interventional radiology and vascular setting. This position involves preparing procedure suites, calibrating and troubleshooting equipment, assisting physicians during procedures, and ensuring adherence to radiation safety protocols.

• Prepare procedure suites and establish radiation safety setups.
• Calibrate and troubleshoot imaging and hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
• Pull necessary supplies and set up sterile tables for procedures.
• Assist physicians during procedures, including device exchanges and guidewire manipulation.
• Handle catheter placements, balloon and stent deployments, and manage radiation dose and imaging angles.
• Perform cleaning, restocking, and room turnover duties.
• Execute sheath removals post-procedure.

• Minimum of 2 years of interventional radiology experience.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and ARRT.
• Experience with EMR systems, specifically Merge and Cerner, is preferred.
• Familiarity with Siemens imaging equipment is advantageous.

The department consists of a total of 7 procedure suites, including 4 Cath Lab/EP and 3 IR/Vascular rooms, performing an average of over 20 cases per day. The staff includes a rotating team of registered nurses and technologists, with support from anesthesiology for neuro cases.

The position features a schedule of 4 ten-hour days per week, with the possibility of a 5-day, 8-hour format. Staff members will participate in a weeknight and weekend call rotation approximately once every three weeks. Flexibility in scheduling is appreciated.

Provided scrubs will be worn, with the option to use personal scrub caps. Training will include 2-3 days of orientation, with the second week incorporating on-call responsibilities alongside a buddy.

All personnel will clock in and out at the facility. Candidates with previous employment at this location should note their end date to determine eligibility.
