Radiology - MRI Tech

Hours per Shift: Wednesday - Friday (12 PM - 10 PM), Saturday (8 AM - 6 PM), Sunday, Monday, & Tuesday (10 AM - 10 PM)

Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a hospital setting

License: Yes

Certifications: ARRT, BLS (AHA)

Must-Have: Experience with Siemens MRI, hospital experience preferred, open to first-time travelers

Description:

The MRI department consists of three machines located within a clinic attached to a hospital.

One machine is situated within the hospital, adjacent to the X-ray area.

The technologist may need to float between inpatient and clinic areas.

The common types of imaging and studies performed include everything, specifically Level 2 traumas.

The average number of scans performed daily is approximately 38.There are seven staff members in the department until 4:30 PM.After 4:30 PM, two staff members remain in the department.

During weekends, the technologist will work alone, except for assistance when needed.

The electronic medical record system used is Cerner, along with Siemens PACS.Department-specific equipment includes Siemens machinery, and prior experience is required.

A lead technologist will guide the team during daytime shifts.

The department does accommodate assistants on weekends.

The technologist is responsible for starting IVs as part of regular duties.

The scheduling follows a 7 on and 7 off rotation.

The weekday shifts run from 12 PM to 10 PM (Wednesday, Thursday, Monday, Tuesday) and weekend shifts from 8 AM to 6 PM (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).Weekend and holiday work is required within the 7 on rotation.

There is a call or standby requirement during the 7 on period, with response time expected.

Scrubs are provided for all staff members.

Department-specific orientation may take up to one week.
