Purpose of PositionThe purpose of this position is to assist with recreational therapy activities and groups within the hospital unit for patient physical, mental, social and psychological well-being. The work is performed under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist (OTR). This position is scheduled every-other-weekend (Saturday & Sunday)
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
While the following tasks are necessary for the work of the unit, they are not an essential part of the purpose of this position and may also be performed by other unit members.
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
High school diploma or equivalent; prior work experience providing recreational activities in groups or individually, preferably with persons with mental illness preferred. Any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Ability to perform data entry and retrieval of information in computer terminal required and to learn any upgrades and changes which may occur. CNA license preferred, but not required.
