Picture your day: you arrive at our Marshfield shop, power up a modern CNC mill, load a well-prepared fixture, and pull up the latest program. You study the blueprint, set precise tool lengths and work offsets, run your first article, and confirm every tolerance with micrometers and gauges. As production ramps, you keep an eye on spindle load and finish quality, making smart adjustments to feeds and speeds.
You record results, keep your area spotless and safe, and collaborate with teammates to tune the process so the next run is even better.
- Set up and operate CNC milling equipment to manufacture precision parts that meet specification.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine the best machining approach.
- Monitor machine performance, adjusting offsets, tooling, and parameters to maintain quality.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues that arise during production.
- Partner with peers to refine processes and elevate productivity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
- Accurately document production data and part history.
- High school diploma or equivalent; machining technical training or certification preferred.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience running CNC milling machines.
- Expertise in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Solid grasp of machining methods, tooling selection, and material behavior.
- Ability to excel independently and contribute on a fast-moving team.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and exceptional attention to detail.
- Knowledge of quality standards and use of inspection tools.
