Marshfield Clinic Recovery Corps

The Recovery Corps program is the first of its kind in Wisconsin that trains individuals to become recovery coaches while enrolled in a National Service program, Ameri Corps. Members undergo training in the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) Coach Academy. Recovery coaches support those affected by their own or someone else’s substance use through one-on-one contact and community education. These members tackle the ever-growing issue of substance use at law enforcement agencies, county jails, public health departments, social service departments, health care organizations, nonprofits, local coalitions and other government agencies.

Recovery Corps members help build healthier communities by reducing the impact of substance use.

Recovery Corps members are trained as recovery coaches and focus on reducing prescription drug, opioid, and other substance use disorders through one-on-one contact, outreach phone calls, and community education. Members may serve at law enforcement agencies, county jails, public health departments, social service departments, health care organizations, nonprofits, local coalitions, or other government agencies. Recovery Corps members must be in recovery for at least 12 months or have lived experience (recovery or substance use related).
