Department DetailsMarshfield Children’s Hospital is home to a Level I, eight-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) that provides the highest level of care for critically injured or seriously ill patients—from newborn infants through adolescents up to 19 years old. With over 50 years of experience in pediatric care, we’ve built a strong reputation for delivering advanced, compassionate treatment to our most vulnerable patients.

- Plans and coordinates patient care, assessment, education, triage and various other nursing interventions
- Collaborates with colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care
- Empathetically cares for patients during all stages of preventive services, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up along the continuum of care
- Demonstrates competency and uses comprehensive nursing expertise
Graduate from an accredited nursing program required, including but not limited to AACN, ACEN, and NLN CNEA. Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred. Holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possesses multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications.
