Responsibilities

The PTP RN will assess and triage patient clinical information shared by the referring provider, utilizing process flows, emergent and specialty algorithms, and admission guidelines to assign and transport patients to the appropriate facilities with the necessary level of services. The RN will facilitate conference calls between referring providers and accepting physicians, communicate identified concerns to providers and hospital supervisors, and maintain a comprehensive view of the admission and transfer process, including the initiation of emergency transport needs and collaboration with emergency communication centers to expedite helicopter, fixed‑wing, and critical care transports.

The RN will also provide individualized nursing care following the nursing process, collaborate with interdisciplinary colleagues, and perform patient assessment, education, triage, and other nursing interventions within the scope of practice.

Qualifications
  • Diploma or associate degree in nursing;
    Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of clinical experience in an acute or ambulatory care setting; ICU, emergency department, or other medical/surgical experience preferred.
  • Current, unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where practicing; multistate licensure acceptable for NLC states.
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program (AACN, ACEN, NLN CNEA).
  • Obtain and maintain required department‑specific competencies and certifications.
