$500 CONTRACT COMPLETION BONUS
Responsibilities- 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- 36 hours per week available
- Every other weekend required (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
- Every other holiday required during winter; 2 out of 3 holidays during other times
- No on-call or standby requirement
- Required certification: BLS (AHA)
- Charting system:
Cerner - BSN not required
- Must have acute care experience and comfort with complex patients
- Prior travel experience preferred; travel pairs will not be accepted
- Must have experience with drips and be comfortable titrating drips as needed
- Common titratable and set rate drips include insulin, heparin, cardizem, nitro, amiodarone, octreotide, and blood transfusions
- No oncology or chemotherapy knowledge required; internal nurses handle treatment needs
- Common patient diagnoses include oncology/hematology, general medical, GI bleed, PE/DVT, sepsis, CHF, COPD, pneumonia, and failure to thrive
- Nurse-to-patient ratios:
Day/Eve 1:4-5, Nights 1:6 (up to 1:7 if working short) - Nurse aides available with ratios of 1:7-9 on day/eve and 1:14 overnight
- Centralized tele techs monitor and read strips; RNs are expected to be tele aware
- Charge nurse and house supervisor present on all shifts; travelers may be asked to step into charge role, especially on nights
- Respiratory therapy available in-house 24/7; equipment may include continuous CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow O2
- First to float within med-surg units; floating outside of med-surg only for observer needs or helping hands (done in 4-hour increments)
- Scrub color: any color accepted; no logos from other health systems
- Orientation consists of 1 day of computer training/CBT/regulatory and one 12-hour shift on the floor
- Must clock in and out at the facility
- Clinicians must note in submission if they have previously worked for this facility; prior employees must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission date
