Job TitleRegistered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care / Medical-Surgical
LocationMarshfield, WI
Schedule / Job TypeContract | Night Shift | Onsite | Every Other Weekend and Every Other Holiday Required
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a 29-bed Progressive Care / Medical-Surgical unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio on nights
- Manage and titrate drips including Heparin, insulin, diltiazem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin as ordered
- Care for patients presenting with abdominal surgeries, ENT surgeries, complex wounds, and general medical diagnoses
- Perform and maintain IVs, drains, ostomies, wound vacs, NG tubes, and Foley catheters
- Document and coordinate care using an Electronic Health Record system
- Float on a rotational basis to other medical-surgical units when the primary unit is overstaffed
- Active RN licensure in good standing
- Current BLS certification
- Intermediate Care or Progressive Care background
- Proficiency with IVs, drains, ostomies, wound vacs, NG tubes, and Foley catheters
- Experience titrating drips (Heparin required; insulin, diltiazem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin a plus)
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record documentation
- Current ACLS certification
- Experience with respiratory support equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, Vapotherm, and tracheostomy care
- Familiarity with telemetry monitoring in a unit-based setting
- Unit makes every effort to provide block scheduling, particularly for night shift clinicians
- No on-call or standby requirements, with a structured orientation including computer training and hands-on shadowing
