Med Surg/PCU/Tele Registered Nurse
This position is for a Med Surg/PCU/Tele Registered Nurse specializing in Neuro Trauma. The unit focuses on neuro-related cases, including strokes, seizures, Guillain-Barré syndrome, Myasthenia gravis, spinal injuries, and post-thrombectomy care. Common patient diagnoses also include trauma orthopedic injuries and other critical conditions. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5 during the day and 1:5-6 during nighttime, depending on patient acuity. The role involves titrating various drips, including heparin, nitroglycerin, diltiazem, amiodarone, 3% saline, and insulin.
RNs will work with ventilators, tracheostomies, CPAP, BiPAP, Vapo therm, and EtCO2 equipment. Self-scheduling is available, although the manager balances the shifts. Weekend work is required every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Holiday requirements typically involve working 2 out of 3 holidays during winter and every other holiday throughout the year. Floating to sister units with mixed care, cardiac, general medical, orthopedic, and hematology/oncology patients may be necessary.
Nurses are required to wear any solid color scrubs. All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility.
Minimum 2 years of experience in MS, PCU, or ICU. Experience in a similar setting within the last year. Must have drip experience. Highly prefer home tracheostomy and vent experience.
