Key responsibilities of the PCU Registered Nurse include:

• Manage patient care with a neuro-focused approach, dealing with strokes, seizures, Guillain-Barré, and other neurological conditions
• Administer and titrate medications including Heparin, Nitro, and Diltiazem
• Work within a patient ratio of 1:4-6, depending on shift and acuity
• Work collaboratively with the healthcare team, including nurse aides and tele/monitor techs
• Participate in unit-specific orientation and adapt to floating requirements as needed

Requirements of the PCU Registered Nurse include:

• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of experience in MS, PCU, or ICU settings within the last year
• Experience with trach and home vents preferred; willingness to train on vents required
• Ability to titrate drips effectively in a fast-paced environment
