Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (PCU)

Marshfield, WI | Acute Care

Contract | Night Shift | Every Other Weekend | Every Other Holiday | No On-Call Required

• Provide direct patient care on a 29-bed PCU/Medical-Surgical unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio on nights
• Manage and care for patients presenting with abdominal surgeries, ENT surgeries, complex wounds, and general medical diagnoses
• Perform and maintain IVs, drains, ostomies, wound vacs, NG tubes, and Foley catheters
• Titrate drips including Heparin, and infrequently insulin, diltiazem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin
• Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) for accurate and timely documentation; collaborate with telemetry monitor techs who record patient rhythms
• Float on rotation to other medical-surgical units when the primary unit is overstaffed

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Intermediate Care (PCU/Step-Down) background required
• Proficiency with IVs, drains, ostomies, wound vacs, NG tubes, and Foley catheters
• Experience with Electronic Health Record systems
• Must live at least 80 miles from the facility to be eligible at standard contract rates

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• Experience managing respiratory support equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, Vapotherm, or tracheostomy care
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring in a PCU or step-down environment

• Work on a well-supported unit with dedicated nurse aides and telemetry monitor techs, allowing RNs to focus on direct patient care
• Structured orientation provided, including computer training and hands-on shadowing hours to set you up for success
